Perry goes into detail recently over the meaning in some of the lyrics to her songs off of Prism. Perry wrote most of this music during a very difficult period in her life, in the devastating times of her divorce from Russell Brand. Perry discussed her inner battle with thoughts of suicide during her darkest moments that she sings about in her song “By The Grace of God”:

“That song is evident of how tough it really was at a certain point,” she told Billboard’s Ryan McGinley. “I asked myself, ‘Do I want to endure? Should I continue living?’ All the songs are real-life moments. I can only write autobiographically. I put all the evidence in the music. I tell my fans if they want to know the real truth about stuff, just listen to the songs.”

Perry introduced the song recently at the iTunes Festival, with only about two weeks left till her album drops Katy Cats are excited for new music and what’s next for Perry….the Prism World Tour!
